Domestic development of polyurethane synthetic leather

Although the production of synthetic leather in China started late, it has developed rapidly in the past 20 years and has considerable industrial scale and competitive strength. Especially in recent years, the annual growth rate of China's PU leather market has reached 17% - 29%, which has gradually become one of the main driving forces to promote the development of global PU leather, and even become the main driving force to promote the development of the entire polyurethane market. According to incomplete statistics, the national synthetic leather output was 2.8 billion m2 in 2007 and 3.32 billion m2 in 2008. In 2010, there were more than 2600 manufacturers of synthetic leather and synthetic leather in China, including 316 enterprises above designated size. The production line and output accounted for 73% of the world's total output, and the synthetic leather output reached 5.6 billion m2. It is nearly twice as high as China's GDP growth rate, showing the strong growth trend of China's synthetic leather industry.
